Cry 6

During a recent episode of the Just for variety podcast (via /Movie), Courtney Cox has confirmed that she will be reprising her role as Gale Weathers again in Cry 6.

I received the script yesterday. I haven’t read it yet, I just received it… I can’t wait to read it, and I know that they will start filming I think in June, in Canada. I don’t know if I’m supposed to say something. Let me tell you the killer!

The throats

THR reports strange doctorScott Derrickson will direct The throats, an “action-packed, genre-bending love story” at Skydance. Plot details are not available at this time.

Dungeons & Dragons

Chris Pine described the new Dungeons & Dragons movie as a cross between princess bride, games of thrones and Monty Python and the Holy Grail in a recent interview with /Movie.

Oh man. Well, what I will say is that we had a blast doing it. There were lots of laughs. The way I described it is like game of thrones mixed with a little princess bridejust a bit of Holy Grail; it’s somewhere in this stadium. This is very fun. There are a lot of thrills. It’s poppy, it’s from the heart of the 80s, there is a bit of Goonies in there. My character is the ultimate party planner. I think it’s going to be really good. I mean, who the fuck knows, but I think we had a good shot and John and John are killers. They know comedy and they know heart and we had a great cast and had a blast doing it. And that’s all you can ask for.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness

Speaking of which, Kevin Feige recently said Empire that Sam Raimi is coming strange doctor sequel “will make fans of Evil Dead 2 very happy.”

We want it to be a Sam Raimi movie. We were giving notes like: “This action is cool – you are competing with avengers and Spider Man, no problem, but do not forget the roles of Sam Raimi. You’ll see just how great Sam Raimi is, in a way that will make fans of Evil Dead 2 very happy.

Interview with the Vampire

First edition

Wednesday

Jenny Ortega spoke to Weekly entertainment on the challenges of playing Wednesday Addams as a teenager.

We never saw her as a teenager. You know, it’s funny and sweet and almost charming to hear this eight-year-old’s obsession with murder and blood and guts. As you get older, that bad attitude or [those] scathing remarks, it’s almost hard not to make him look like every other teenage girl. So, it’s like, how do you establish that character and give it that same fire without letting it become something that it’s not? Also, it’s an eight hour series so for an emotionless character, there has to be some sort of emotional arc. It’s been very interesting to understand in terms of, okay, well, she has to be able to move the story forward somehow, but how do we keep her true to her deadpan? It’s been a bit of a challenge and I’m curious to see how it goes. I’ve never had the opportunity to play an iconic character before. I know she is well loved and respected and I just don’t want to spoil her.
