Midnight Mass star Kate Siegel loses control in the trailer for Netflix’s original horror thriller Hypnotic starring Jason O’Mara and Dulé Hill.

Siegel is best known for her appearances in the films and shows of horror filmmaker Mike Flanagan, who is also her husband. She starred in the 2013 Flanagan horror film Oculus then starred and co-wrote his next film, Silence. She has followed these projects with roles in almost every Flanagan movie and show, including Ouiji: Origin of Evil, Gerald’s Game, The Haunting of Hill House, and The Haunting of Bly’s Mansion.

Siegel currently appears in Flanagan’s Netflix series Midnight Mass, which has been an extremely popular show for the streamer. The actress also did the podcast, recounting the horror comedy series Call to Darkness, as well as appearing in episodes of The NoSleep podcast, which is an anthology series of original horror stories. Siegel is currently filming a serial adaptation of The wife of the time traveler, based on the novel by Audrey Niffenegger.

Today, Netflix shared the trailer for Siegel’s upcoming psychological horror thriller movie Hypnotic. The film is directed by Matt Angel and Suzanne Coote with a screenplay by Richard D’Ovidio and stars Siegel as a woman named Jenn who enlists the help of the mysterious Dr. Meade to help him with his anxiety, only to discover that he has taken full control over her at the place, which led to “a handful of intense sessions, terrifying events and mysterious blackouts” according to the synopsis. Siegel is joined by Jason O’Mara, who plays hypnotherapist Dr. Meade, as well as Dulé Hill, who plays a cop trying to help Siegel’s Jenn out of her terrifying mental trap. As part of the Scary Season, Netflix is ​​rolling out a number of horror-themed films and shows, which started early with Midnight Mass and will continue throughout the month. Flanagan is currently working on his upcoming Netflix horror series, The midnight club, which is based on the young adult horror novel by Christopher Pike and is due out in 2022.
