Last year, 96.4 million people tuned in to watch the Tampa Bay Buccaneers defeat the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LV. That huge number was down from recent years, as it was the least-watched Super Bowl since 2007, according to CNBC.
It doesn’t matter which teams are playing. Millions of people watch the Super Bowl every year, even some who don’t care about football. The NFL’s final game of the season is a spectacle featuring hours of coverage and a massive halftime show. And you can’t forget the ads.
Because so many eyeballs are on televisions during the Super Bowl, the networks charge a large amount of money for commercials. Companies pay top dollar, and then they do whatever it takes to make their ads memorable, which usually leads to lots of funny ads.
Here’s everything we know about the ads for Super Bowl LVI, which kicks off Sunday at 6:30 p.m. ET on NBC.

The Los Angeles Rams franchise has not won a Super Bowl title since the 1999 season. The Cincinnati Bengals have never won a championship and their last Super Bowl appearance was in the 1988 campaign. a new game, so it wouldn’t be surprising if it led to big ratings for the NBC show on Sunday.
And companies paid a ton of money to advertise during Super Bowl LVI. According to Bill Shea of The Athletic, the average price for a 30-second ad this year is $6.5 million, up from last year’s average of $5.5 million. .
Shea also reported that 30-second commercials have sold for up to $7 million. Because of this investment, it is likely that we will see many big brand ads.
As always, some ads have already been posted, so you have an idea of what to look out for. And many of them will feature big-name stars.
Amazon will run an Alexa ad featuring Saturday Night Live star Colin Jost and actress Scarlett Johansson, who married in 2020.
Doritos tapped rapper Megan Thee Stallion and singer Charlie Puth for their publicity. Meanwhile, Michelob Ultra will air an ad featuring a host of famous faces, including former NFL quarterback Peyton Manning, actor Steve Buscemi and tennis icon Serena Williams.
There are many other companies that offer advertisements featuring big stars. But there’s always the potential for a few surprises.
All in all, there should be plenty of entertaining commercials throughout the Super Bowl LVI broadcast, so you might not want to get up when there’s a break in the game.

Rotten Tomatoes’ Mark Ellis recently spoke with CBS Sports’ Cody Benjamin about potential trailers that could air during Super Bowl LVI, making some predictions. He believes there will be places for Jurassic World: Dominion, Minions: The Rise of Gru and Light year among the films shown.
Top Gun: Maverick and sonic the hedgehog 2 two more movies are slated for release in 2022, so it wouldn’t be surprising to see commercial spots for both during Super Bowl LVI.
