The Lego Ninjago Movie game is free on Steam right now

Hey, parents! Looking to entertain the kids with something sparkly for a few hours during these trying times? You can currently get The Lego Ninjago Movie video game for Keepies on Steam for free. It’s another one of those Traveller’s Tales Lego games, doing their usual Lego game things. Except unlike Lego games based on serious adult movies, like Star Wars and The Avengers, this one is based on the 2017 film adaptation of Lego’s Ninjago line. You don’t need to know Ninjago to try, I guess.

You have until 7:59 a.m. on Friday, May 22 (that’s 11:59 p.m. Thursday for our friends at Pacific Time) to grab the game for free on Steam, and then it’ll be yours for the souvenirs.

“Play as your favorite ninjas, Lloyd, Jay, Kai, Cole, Zane, Nya, and Master Wu to defend their home island of Ninjago against the evil Lord Garmadon and his army of sharks,” the blurb explains. Listen, your favorite fictional world seems just as dumb to people who don’t know it.

Looking at the new Steam reviews from those who picked it up for free, yes it looks like it’s another Lego game and that’s pretty good it just uses characters that it thinks you’ll know and love and you you’ll probably have no idea what it is. But maybe your kids will! Even if it’s not, hey, it’s a Lego game.

It’s also free on PlayStation and Xbox.
