Frida Kempff’s psychological horror, Knock, debuted at Sundance earlier this year. A topical psychological thriller, Knock premiered with great success at the 2021 Sundance Film Festival in the Midnight section. This is the first narrative feature film by Swedish director Frida Kempff, whose previous credits include the short film winner of the Jury Prize at Cannes 2010 Micky swim and the documentary 2015 Winter buoy.
Film synopsis Striking
Knock stars Cecilia Milocco as Molly, a woman who recently suffered a traumatic incident and is moving into a new apartment as part of her recovery journey. But soon after settling into her home, she begins to hear a series of lingering bangs and screams that wake her up in the middle of the night. Molly desperately tries to find someone to believe her before her life completely collapses as the screams escalate.

Knock was written by Emma BrostrÃ¶m and produced by Erik Andersson for LÃ¤sk in collaboration with SVT and the Swedish Film Institute as part of the Moving Sweden initiative with support from NorrkÃ¶pings Filmfond. Federico Ambrosini was executive producer of the film adapted from a novel written by Johan Theorin.
Knock releases in theaters October 8 and digital / on demand October 19.
